Commercial · Most Common
Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ)
The most common commercial backflow device. Two check valves with a pressure differential relief valve between them. Used for high-hazard applications where contamination could be life-threatening. Requires annual testing.
Commercial / Residential
Double Check Valve (DCVA)
Two independently operating check valves in series. Used for medium-hazard applications — fire sprinkler systems, irrigation systems, and boilers. Annual testing required.
Residential · Irrigation
Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB)
Common on residential irrigation systems. A single check valve with an air inlet valve. Annual testing required by most water authorities for irrigation backflow devices.

Fire Sprinkler Backflow
Fire sprinkler systems require backflow prevention to stop stagnant water from flowing back into the public supply. We test all fire sprinkler backflow assemblies — RPZ, DCVA, and OS&Y types.
Residential · Simple
Dual Check Valve
Simple backflow prevention device used on residential water heaters, boilers, and irrigation systems. Some water authorities require annual testing; others don't. We test them either way.
