Recurring Clogs
Clogs that keep coming back
If you're calling for drain cleaning every 3–6 months, the pipe wall is coated in buildup. Snaking clears the immediate clog but leaves the grease and scale behind — so the next clog forms right on top of it. Hydro jetting strips the pipe wall clean, giving you years, not months, between service calls.
Restaurant Kitchens
Grease buildup in kitchen lines
Restaurant kitchen grease traps and main lines accumulate FOG (fats, oils, grease) at an alarming rate. Quarterly hydro jetting is the industry standard for commercial kitchens — it removes the hardened grease layer that snaking can't touch and keeps you compliant with LA County and SD County health codes.
Root Intrusion
Tree roots in sewer lines
Roots invade through pipe joints and seek moisture. Snaking cuts the roots but leaves the root hairs embedded in the joints — they grow back in months. Hydro jetting blasts the roots and root hairs out of the joints, extending the time between service calls. For severe root intrusion, we recommend CIPP lining after jetting to seal the joints permanently.
Old Pipes
Older cast iron or clay tile pipes
Homes built before 1975 typically have cast iron or clay tile sewer laterals. These materials corrode and roughen over time, creating surfaces that catch and hold buildup. Hydro jetting is the most effective way to clean rough pipe walls without damaging the pipe itself.
Preventive
Preventive maintenance (every 2–3 years)
For homes with known buildup issues, mature trees near the sewer line, or older pipes, we recommend hydro jetting every 2–3 years as preventive maintenance. It costs less than an emergency backup call and extends the life of your sewer lateral by years.
Pre-Purchase
Pre-purchase main line cleaning
Buying a home with older pipes? After the camera inspection shows the line is structurally sound, hydro jetting clears any existing buildup so you start ownership with a clean system — and a baseline camera recording to compare against in the future.
